Rick Ribstein, a native of Brookings, South Dakota, earned his juris doctorate from the University of South Dakota in 1989. Following a two year judicial clerkship, he returned to Brookings to start his career in 1991. Rick’s general practice includes personal injury, worker’s compensation, social security disability, divorce, criminal law and estate planning. Rick and his wife, Beth, have two grown children.

Tim Hogan, a native of Brookings, South Dakota, earned his juris doctor from Saint Louis University in 1993. Following a year as a public defender in Missouri, he returned to Brookings to open his own firm. He joined McCann & Ribstein in 1999 as a partner. In 2014 he formed Ribstein & Hogan Law Firm with Rick Ribstein. Tim’s general practice includes real estate, business planning, criminal law, family law and divorce, bankruptcy, estate planning and probate. Tim has experience as an owner and developer of a number of real estate developments over the past fifteen years. Tim and his wife, Kate, keep very busy raising their five children.

Brian Zielinski is an experienced litigation attorney, whose law practice has emphasized civil litigation and workers’ compensation law. Brian practiced law at a large firm in Sioux Falls for several years before joining Ribstein & Hogan Law Firm in 2021. Brian has handled cases throughout South Dakota’s administrative agencies and trial courts, as well as appeals to the South Dakota Supreme Court.
Brian grew up in northwest suburban Chicago. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Carthage College (Kenosha, Wisconsin), where he earned degrees in economics and marketing. Brian earned his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law in 2014. During law school, Brian was a member of the MSU International Law Review and MSU Legal Clinic.
Following law school, Brian practiced law in Michigan for two years, before relocating to Brookings in 2017. In his free time, Brian enjoys spending time with his growing family.
